Class Message
Congratulations PAHS Class of 2021, we made it!
This year has been a long-fought battle against COVID-19. Although we may be seeing a return to everyday life, there is no doubt that these times will be with us forever. At the beginning of the school year, there was much doubt for any extracurriculars, sports, or activities to resume. However, our community came together and saw the light at the end of a dark tunnel, providing us with a year like no other. Palmerton students, faculty, and community did not accept “no” for an answer.
We all can agree that the missing pep rallies this year highly impacted our class spirit. However, we were all able to find a way to make the best of our situation. From having online spirit videos to an in-person prom, the Palmerton Seniors and faculty yet again proved their resilience. Graduates, learn from this; in the future, accept the help from the thousands of people that you will find surrounding you. At first, you will be nervous and scared, but you need to find the light that will guide you to be successful. You will have people help you find that light, but do not take them for granted. Connections are the most crucial asset in life. You can have as many qualifications for a job as you would like, but what people want to see is that you are a well-rounded individual.
We all have that one person in our lives that is very close to us. They are so important in our lives because they know our weaknesses, strengths, and background. These qualities are what allow you to stand out as a person. Do not hide who you truly are; to stand out, you will have to share these qualities, no matter how intimidated you may be. There will be setbacks, but if there is one thing you should take away from this year, it is to not accept “no” for an answer. Even if it means you need to take shortcuts, take them carefully and keep your head up. I am sure we all had one moment this year where we may have used the internet to study for a test the next day, but that is better than giving up entirely.
Class of 2021, it has been a pleasure to serve as your President and from my experiences, I can see success in all of you. No matter your race, identity, or family background, you can make a difference. These past four years were full of countless memories, cherish them. Thank you all, and good luck in your future.
